The Child & Adolescent Health Department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Paediatric Registrar / Advanced Trainee - General Paediatrics to join their team on a temporary full-time basis (76 hrs p.f.).

Role-specific responsiblities
This position reports to the 8 Consultant Paediatricians, on a day-to-day basis and over the year to the Paediatric Training Program Coordinator and Clinical Director.
Provide paediatric services under supervision within a multi-disciplinary team clinic model to ensure effective diagnostic and intervention care planning.
Responsibility for the planning of clinical care of children under supervision assigned under his/her management, requiring participation in interdisciplinary case conferencing and management.
Education/training and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate trainees in paediatrics, medical students and trainees in other related health disciplines.
Ensure appropriate and concise documentation of contemporaneous medical records, including use of best practice, completion of timely reports (including medico-legal when needed) and letters.
About the Team
The Child & Adolescent Health Unit takes around 5,000 admissions per year with regional referral service (including 8-bed Special Care Nursery with neonates >32weeks + including CPAP). The CAU is serviced by 8 paediatricians, 10 registrars/PHOs, 6 junior staff and visiting medical and surgical specialists Outreach. We champion Telehealth to assist families and reduce travel.
