Assistant in Nursing

About Us:

Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd, located in Mackay, Queensland, have two facilities, Kerrisdale Gardens and Good Shepherd Lodge and we are seeking Assistants in Nursing to join our clinical team on a part-time or casual basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living, providing accurate documentation, and maintaining a caring and empathetic attitude towards residents.

About the Role:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Assistants in Nursing (AIN's) to join our team. As an AIN, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to residents, assisting with daily living activities, and contributing to the overall comfort and well-being of residents under the guidance of our registered nurses. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
Monitor and report on resident health status, including vital signs and general well-being
Support registered nurses in providing high-quality care
Maintain resident records and documentation in accordance with healthcare standards
Assist in resident mobility and positioning
Provide emotional support and comfort to residents and their families
Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff

About You:

We are looking for a reliable and compassionate individual who is committed to providing the highest standard of care to our residents. The successful candidate will have:

A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
Previous experience in residential aged care (preferred but not essential)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to follow care plans and work in a fast-paced environment
Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain prior to employment
Current Influenza (Flu) Vaccination or willingness to obtain, in line with QLD aged care requirements
Availability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
