Data Analyst
Secondment up until January 2027
Are you passionate about understanding organisational information needs and ensuring the right data and insights are available across the organisation? Join our Strategic Business Improvement team and help improve services and outcomes across Council through analytics and business intelligence solutions.
Working under limited direction, you will provide advice on data analysis and business intelligence to support Council operations, and deliver business improvement initiatives that enable the effective use of corporate data.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Evaluate business needs, lead and contribute to the design, development and delivery of data-related business improvement solutions.
- Analyse data and use appropriate tools to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for business improvement.
- Develop complete source-to-presentation pipelines for data analysis and presentation.
- Provide sound advice and recommendations based on data analysis and insights, and help enhance Council’s data analysis and business intelligence toolsets.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
- Sifnificant experience in the analysis and reporting of data to drive data-based decision making.
- Strong experience in leading successful business improvement projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, consult stakeholders and present insights clearly.
- Strong ability to think critically, analyse data and provide recommendations.
- Strong ability to work in a project team environment and deliver outputs in line with project plans and timeframes.
- Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI (particularly Power BI).
