Full Job Description

We are looking for one female Disability Support Worker to work in the Melton area.

We are currently seeking an experienced and committed female Disability Support Worker to provide care for a few of our female participants for a variety of shifts, mostly in blocks of 2-5 hours, Monday to Friday and also a possibility of weekend shifts in the medium term. Availability for before and after school hours is ESSENTIAL (7-9am and 3-6pm).

This is a great opportunity to join our caring team. Happy Carers is an NDIS registered provider and our priority is to establish working relations where our participants and our Support Workers are HAPPY!

Applicants must be experienced with a responsible attitude. The successful applicant will be expected to have a good understanding of how to support an individual living with a disability. You must be passionate about helping others to maintain their quality of life and independence. To be successful you will need to be compassionate and empathetic with strong listening and communication skills and have the ability to connect with people with behavioural challenges.

Qualifications & Experiences

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Support Worker with the following:

Certificate III / IV in Disability, Individual Support or relevant
Current First Aid / CPR Certificate
Driver licence
NDIS Workers Screening Check
Working With Children Check
Experience working with individuals living with cerebral palsy is an asset

Key Responsibilities & Duties for Disability Support Worker

Support and encourage participants during morning routines and community outings
Provide individualised support to our participants using a supportive and positive approach
Motivate and promote participants' independence
Assist the participants with their emotional, psychological, cultural needs
Provide in home support for daily living activities which could include personal care
Provide transport when required
Make sure our participants are HAPPY!
