Technical Sales Engineer

About the business

Based in Chinchilla Queensland Tango Oilfield Solutions provides equipment and services to the local Australia Land Drilling and Gas Market. Tango is a small family owned company started in 2013. However the directors have international experience and global reach. Due to increased activity and the expansion into Thru Tubing and broader Well Intervention we are now looking to add a new full time position as a Technical Sales Engineer.

About the role

A Full Time Position based in Brisbane QLD the The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for:

Technical Expertise – specialist expertise in Thru Tubing and Well Intervention, a strategic growth area as Tango expands its service offering
General Sales & Business Development – identify and pursue new clients and revenue across Tango's legacy product lines (Drilling Tools, Fishing)
Commercial Management – quote, negotiate, and close sales; manage pricing, credit terms, and order recording
Customer Relationship Management – build enduring client relationships; ensure satisfaction and resolve issues
Market Intelligence & Reporting – monitor competitor activity, prepare sales reports, and submit expense records

Duties and Responsibilities

A. Technical Expertise: Apply specialist Thru Tubing/Well Intervention expertise – a strategic business growth area

Apply specialist technical expertise in the sale and growth of Thru Tubing and Well Intervention product lines, supported by general knowledge of Tango's other legacy product lines (Drilling Tools, Fishing, & Fluid Storage), to contribute to job planning, tool selection, and commercial value propositions
Support General Manager, Operations Manager, & Field Staff with technical queries related to Well Intervention; attend site and client technical meetings as required
Technical focal point for general Thu-Tubing or other Well Intervention enquires across business units

B. General Sales & Business Development: Meet or exceed revenue targets

· Identify and pursue prospective clients using industry directories and market sources
Visit existing and prospective clients to identify opportunities; assess needs and recommend equipment and services
Prepare proposals and tender submissions; quote and negotiate prices and credit terms; record orders in company systems
Coordinate delivery of equipment and services; deliver client presentations; attend conferences and industry events

C. Customer Relationship Management: Build enduring client relationships

Monitor competitors’ products, services, and market conditions; report customer and market intelligence to the General Manager
Follow up post-job to ensure client satisfaction; resolve any issues in a timely manner
Within area of technical specialisation, support job planning, tool selection, and customer technical queries through execution

D. Other Duties as directed

Cover for the Operations Manager and General Manager as required to support continuity of business unit operations during periods of leave or absence
Conduct all duties in accordance with Tango HR, OHS policies, and QHSE Management Systems; report all incidents, hazards, and defects; attend safety meetings as required
Perform other duties as directed by the General Manager or Director

Benefits and perks

The exact compensation is commensurate with experience however the base package will include:

Salary + Super + Vacation
At risk bonus based on relevant sales and performance of business unit and company
Standard work week although occasional weekend work may be required

Skills and experience

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related) – combined with specialist Thru Tubing/Well Intervention experience.
5+ years in a sales or business development role within oil and gas; proven track record meeting or exceeding revenue targets – essential
Understanding of upstream oil and gas operations and general knowledge of Tango's product lines (Drilling, Fishing, Fluids Management); specialist, in-depth expertise in Thru Tubing and Well Intervention

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
