About your opportunity:
We're offering a temporary, flexible full-time position for 12 months with possibility of extension. This is your chance to bring your legal expertise to the forefront while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Senior Legal Officer, you'll engage in a variety of impactful and rewarding tasks including:
Preparing prosecution cases on complex matters, including appeals, with professionalism and timeliness.
Collaborating and managing relationships with stakeholders such as defence counsel, solicitors, police, victims, and witnesses to maintain clear, respectful communication.
Advocating in court for appeals, sentences, committal hearings, and bail applications across the Magistrates, District, or higher courts.
Engaging with complainants and relatives, particularly in cases involving sexual or violent offences, with sensitivity and compassion.
Leading and mentoring legal officers and support staff, inspiring high standards and professional growth.
Identifying opportunities to improve work practices and streamline processes.

Mandatory requirements
You must be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia (please provide your admission date).
