Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer to join our Mental Health Services team.

We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry (Youth Early Intervention)! The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in psychiatry, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the SLHD Mental Health Service and Hospital as required.

The Visiting Medical Officer in Psychiatry (Youth Early Intervention Services) will work as the consultant psychiatrist within a Community Mental Health team based at Camperdown, providing direct care and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health team to young persons experiencing persistent and significant mental health problems.

The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.

Positions will be available from October 2026. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from this date, may be considered.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
