About this Position:
The Handyperson/Carpenter plays a key role in maintaining Council buildings, facilities, public amenities, and community assets. Working across various sites, this position is responsible for undertaking a diverse range of maintenance, repair and minor construction activities.

What we trust you to deliver:
- Building Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out a broad range of building maintenance and repair tasks across multiple building trades and action preventative and reactive maintenance requests. Tasks will include but are not limited to carpentry and joinery repairs, painting, tiling, grouting, door lock and window repairs and assisting other qualified trades within the team.
- Facilities and Asset Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of Council facilities, buildings, structures and equipment. Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure facilities remain safe, functional and well presented.
- Project and Trades support: Assist qualified tradespersons with building, maintenance and improvement projects and coordinate with external contractors and service providers to support maintenance activities
- Tools, equipment and record management: Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment. Maintain accurate records, work logs and documentation of completed tasks.
- Work Health and Safety: Follow workplace health and safety requirements and contribute to a safe working environment
What you will need to be successful:
- Relevant Cert III Trade qualification, Certificate in Building Maintenance or a related field and/or demonstrated industry experience
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Working at Heights Certificate (have or willing to obtain)
Full position description:
Full Time: 76 hours per fortnight
Salary: A competitive salary will be offered to the successful applicant based on relevant skills and experience.
