This vacancy is maternity leave relief for an initial period of up to 16 weeks for 24 hours per week; the hours and period of employment may change according to the maternity leave requirements. There is also the possibility of an extension at same / reduced hours.

About the role
Kamala Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit is seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to join the team in Lismore. Kamala services young people and their families who reside in Northern NSW (NNSWLHD) and Mid North Coast LHDs.
The Nursing Unit Manager of the mental health inpatient unit is responsible for the efficient management of the nursing and other relevant staff under their delegation and coordination of the provision of nursing care. The Nursing Unit Manager leads nursing staff, ensures effective liaison between all health professionals and is responsible for the environmental and work, health and safety management of the units.
Clinician engagement and leadership have been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus. The Local Health District (LHD) is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services.
