Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth).

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality wound care in the community? We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) to join our Community Health Care Secondary Support Nursing Wound Care Team working Monday - Friday.

In this specialist role, you will work collaboratively with community health teams, allied health professionals, specialty programs, general practitioners, hospital teams and specialist wound services to coordinate and deliver evidence-based care for clients with acute and chronic wounds. You will provide expert clinical support, promote best practice wound management and contribute to improved health outcomes that enable clients to maintain their independence and quality of life at home.

What you will bring to the role

Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.

Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in wound care, community nursing or a related specialist clinical area, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.

Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.

Demonstrated ability to perform in a clinical leadership role and use critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidence-based nursing care, including complex wound care.

Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills.

Demonstrated commitment to professional development.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercise extended autonomy and professional judgement within scope of practice and maintain involvement within the wider multidisciplinary team.

Current and valid NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel (this may include driving long distances across the LHD).

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
