As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Steel Detailer who is ready to take the next step in their career.
About the Role
This role combines technical detailing expertise with project coordination, client management, and team leadership.
You will be responsible for managing structural steel detailing projects from concept through to fabrication while coordinating offshore detailers and working directly with builders, fabricators, engineers, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage structural steel detailing projects from start to finish
- Interpret and work from architectural and structural drawings
- Review and coordinate shop drawings and 3D models
- Liaise with fabricators, builders, engineers, and project stakeholders
- Manage RFIs, revisions, and drawing deliverables
- Coordinate and oversee an offshore steel detailing team
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian building codes and standards
- Maintain project quality, schedule, and scope
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Support business development activities and assist in securing repeat and new work
- Meet with clients at site and office locations as required
- Attend site meetings and investigate detailing, fabrication, or erection-related issues
- Identify project risks and proactively resolve coordination issues
- Support continuous improvement of detailing processes and quality standards
About You
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in structural steel detailing
- Trade qualification or equivalent structural steel industry experience highly regarded
- At least 2+ years’ experience in a management, supervisory, or team-lead role
- Strong understanding of fabrication drawings and erection processes
- Confident interpreting architectural and structural drawings
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Tekla Structures experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Organised, practical, and solutions-focused
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
