The role of a Game Master is to ensure that all players have the best experience possible and this all starts with you!

A Gamemaster will possess the following characteristics:

Be enthusiastic, approachable, and engaging with customers of all ages
Friendly, reliable, and professional
Available to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods
Comfortable speaking in front of groups and interacting with customers
Well-presented and confident in a customer-facing role
Organised and able to think on their feet
Patient, fair, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

Essential Skills

Storytelling and Humour

The ability to have fun with your groups while making them feel comfortable and engaged
Confidence bringing themes and characters to life

Public Speaking and Showmanship

Comfortable addressing groups and setting the scene for their experience
Willingness to get into character and add light dramatisation where appropriate
Ability to create a fun and immersive atmosphere

Communication and Customer Service

Strong interpersonal skills
Friendly and approachable nature
Ability to build rapport with customers quickly

Attention to Detail

Maintaining high standards when resetting rooms
Monitoring games to ensure the correct sequence of events is followed
Identifying equipment that may require maintenance or replacement
Following procedures accurately and consistently

Key Responsibilities Customer Experience

Greeting customers upon arrival
Assisting guests with waivers, lockers, team names, and pre-game requirements
Conducting safety briefings
Introducing guests to their chosen escape room experience
Monitoring games and providing hints while maintaining immersion and theme
Creating a professional, welcoming, and entertaining experience throughout the game
Debriefing groups at the completion of their experience
Taking and editing team photographs
Farewelling guests and encouraging repeat visits

Venue Operations

Room resets between sessions
General cleaning and presentation of the venue
Monitoring room quality and functionality
Minor repairs and troubleshooting
Maintaining equipment and reporting maintenance requirements
Ensuring games are ready to run on schedule

Position Details

Casual position
Approximately 10–15 hours per week
Weekend availability is essential
Additional availability during school holiday periods is highly desirable
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
