Boilermaker

The Role

We're seeking experienced underground Boilermakers to join our team dynamic role encompassing both Boilermaking and Paste Crew responsibilities. Working across paste reticulation systems and underground fixed plant maintenance, you'll gain valuable experience in both disciplines while playing a critical role in keeping essential mining infrastructure operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Duties include but not limited to;

Fabricate, weld, and install steel structures, piping, and equipment in underground mining environments.
Maintain and repair paste reticulation systems, including pipework, valves, pumps, and associated infrastructure.
Conduct scheduled maintenance, inspections, and breakdown repairs on underground fixed plant.
Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications to complete tasks safely and accurately.
Carry out welding, cutting, and fabrication to support underground operations.
Installation of paste reticulation and associated equipment.
Construct paste walls in accordance with site procedures.
Operation of underground mobile plant including light vehicles, IT's and flatbed trucks.
Operation of hand-held rock drills.
Identify and report hazards, defects, or potential failures to supervisors in a timely manner.
Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to minimise downtime and maximise production.
Actively participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
Perform other duties as directed by the Leading Hand and Pastefill Coordinator.

About you

Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Boiler making / Metal Fabrication.
Experience working in underground mining or heavy industrial environments.
Demonstrated experience with paste reticulation systems or similar piping/infrastructure is desirable.
Proficiency in MMA and MIG welding and fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
Current manual driver's license (HR/MC desirable).
Confined Space, Working at Heights, and EWP tickets desirable.
National Police Clearance is required prior to background checks commencing.
Strong commitment to safety and hazard management in underground environments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to maintenance.
