Remuneration: $45-50 per hour + travel + super. Depending on experience and qualifications.

Colourful Minds is a NDIS registered company for Positive Behaviour Support, Early Intervention and Therapeutic Supports. We welcome both private and NDIS clients for Play-based Therapy. At Colourful Minds, we’re passionate about supporting neurodiverse children in the age of 2-16 years old and their families to thrive focusing on behavioural challenges. Based in Belmore (2192 NSW), we support clients throughout the Sutherland Shire, Canterbury-Bankstown, Inner West, Lower North Shore, and Sydney CBD. Our clinic is open during weekdays.
The Role:
We’re seeking a warm, energetic, motivated Play-based therapist to join our team. You'll work with neurodiverse children, including those with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, communication delays and developmental delays to impact behavioural changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop tailored therapy plans
- Deliver play-based, evidence-informed interventions
- Use creative therapeutic mediums such as music, LEGO, play, art, and sports
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals
- Provide parent coaching and guidance to teachers and carers
- Apply a social model of disability to advocate for children’s needs
- Maintain accurate documentation, session notes, risks assessment, incident reports and NDIS reports
- Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and ongoing training
About You:
You’re a dynamic and empathetic professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people. You value creativity, collaboration, and inclusive practice. You thrive working independently while also being part of a collaborative team.
Essential Criteria:
· Minimum bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or developmental education.
- Current professional membership with your professional body; AASW/DEAI/AHPRA
- Experience working with neurodivergent young children and families
- Experience working with children who are non-speaking
- Understanding of developmental and behavioural conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (relationship-building skills)
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Current Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aide with CPR and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
· A valid visa granting working rights
· Minimum of 3 days full weekdays available
Desirable:
- Experience with NDIS participants
- Training in evidence-based behavioural interventions (e.g., CBT, DIR/Floortime, Zones of Regulation)
