SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Environment Group Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team in Melbourne.

About you…
The successful candidate will be a Registered Professional Structural Engineer (VIC) with:
- At least 15 years of post-graduate experience in structural analysis and design within mining, minerals processing, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or other heavy industrial facilities
- Extensive experience in the structural design of plant steelwork, equipment support structures, platforms, pipe racks and access systems
- Strong practical understanding of the interaction between structural steelwork and mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, tanks, piping systems, pipe supports and other process plant equipment
- Experience designing structures subjected to wind, seismic and dynamic loads
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with mechanical, piping and process engineers to develop integrated and practical plant design solutions
- Proficiency in SPACEGASS (or equivalent structural analysis software)
- Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) for complex structural assessments
- Strong practical engineering judgement with the ability to develop robust, economical and constructible solutions
- Ability to develop efficient structural analysis models that appropriately simplify complex systems while maintaining engineering accuracy
- Experience developing and maintaining Excel-based engineering design tools, calculation templates and standardised design spreadsheets
It will be advantageous to have:
- Experience with SIEMENS FEMAP advanced FEA software
- Experience with IDEA STATICA for complex connections design
- Extensive experience in the design and assessment of steel stacks, chimneys, process towers, vessels and their supporting structures
- Sound knowledge of Australian and international design standards, including steel structures, seismic, wind and industrial plant design codes
- Practical experience with steel fabrication, site construction, equipment installation and brownfield plant modifications
- Experience reviewing vendor equipment loads, piping loads and interface requirements during multidisciplinary plant design projects
