Fran Capelli Academy Pty Ltd (RTO 6055) is seeking an experienced and motivated Barbering Trainer & Assessor to join our team on a contract basis in Hawthorn, Victoria.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified barbering professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of barbers while continuing to work hands-on with clients in a training salon environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering and assessing barbering training for students and apprentices, conducting practical assessments, supporting learner progress, and providing barbering services to academy clients. The role involves a combination of training, assessment, student supervision, and client-facing barbering services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver barbering training and assessment in accordance with training package requirements.
- Conduct practical observations and competency assessments.
- Provide professional barbering services to academy clients.
- Demonstrate industry-standard barbering techniques and best practices.
- Supervise students during practical client services.
- Support students and apprentices throughout their training journey.
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to learners.
- Participate in validation and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with RTO and regulatory requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Barbering or higher qualification.
- Current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
- Strong industry experience in barbering.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current driver's licence.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Trainer & Assessor.
- Knowledge of vocational education and training (VET) compliance requirements.
- Experience with online and blended learning delivery.
