About Us
International Maarif Schools of Australia is an independent co-educational bilingual school delivering a high-quality Australian curriculum from Prep to Year 12 in a bilingual and multicultural learning environment. Our school is committed to academic excellence while fostering cultural understanding, language development and the performing arts. Turkish language and culture form an important part of our educational program.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and suitably qualified Early Childhood (Pre-primary School) Teacher to lead our Prep class at our Auburn campus on a full-time basis. Prep is the year of schooling preceding Kindergarten and forms the foundation of our bilingual education program.
As the classroom teacher, the successful applicant will plan and deliver a developmentally appropriate educational program in both English and Turkish, assess and monitor student learning and development, and prepare students for a confident transition into Kindergarten. This is a genuinely bilingual role: instruction is delivered in both languages throughout the school day.

- Act as the classroom teacher for the Prep class, establishing a safe, nurturing and well-managed learning environment.
- Foster early literacy and numeracy skills, alongside social, emotional, physical and creative development.
- Develop students’ Turkish language skills through daily instruction, conversation, songs, stories and play-based learning.
- Observe, assess and document each child’s learning and development, and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare students for a smooth transition into Kindergarten, working closely with Early Stage 1 teachers.
- Communicate regularly with families in English and Turkish regarding student progress, and conduct parent meetings.
- Direct and support teacher aides and support staff working within the Prep classroom.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, program review and the continuous improvement of the early years program.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events and playground supervision duties.
- Uphold the school’s child safety, wellbeing and behaviour policies at all times.
Essential Criteria
- A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or an equivalent ACECQA-approved early childhood teaching qualification, recognised in Australia.
- NESA teacher accreditation, or eligibility to obtain accreditation prior to commencement.
- Demonstrated experience teaching children in the year prior to formal schooling or in the early primary years.
- Full professional fluency in both English and Turkish, with the ability to teach and assess in both languages.
- Sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and of early literacy and numeracy development.
- Excellent classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current NSW Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one).
- Commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and inclusive education.
Desirable
- Experience in an independent bilingual school setting.
- Familiarity with the NSW Early Stage 1 syllabus and NESA requirements.
- Experience supporting students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
