Warehouse Operator / Trainee Machine Operator – Stainless Steel
Full-time — Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm — Pay based on experience
Most warehouse jobs are pick and pack. This one isn’t.
You’ll handle industrial stainless steel — operating forklifts, overhead cranes and CNC bandsaws. We’ll train you to do it properly, and there’s a clear path to grow from there.
About the role
This is a hands-on warehouse position in our stainless steel distribution operation. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day handling, preparation and despatch of steel bar — working with real industrial equipment in a specialised environment. The work requires care, accuracy and a genuine focus on safety.
Your duties will include:
- Receiving, checking and inspecting incoming stainless steel materials
- Picking and preparing customer orders to spec
- Packing, labelling and preparing materials for despatch
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Operating forklifts, overhead cranes and warehouse equipment
- Assisting with stock control and inventory checks
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Learning to operate saws and other specialised equipment as your skills develop
How you’ll progress
This isn't a dead-end role. There's a clear skills ladder, and progression comes as your skills and confidence grow:
General warehouse → Overhead crane → Forklift operation → Saw operation
Full training is provided at every stage. You don’t need to arrive knowing everything — you need to arrive willing to learn.

A forklift licence is a bonus, but not required. Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, steel, timber, machinery or trades is an advantage — but we’re genuinely open to training the right person from scratch.
