About the role

Provide personalised coaching and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers, focusing on skill development and best practices, while overseeing the operations of 3 Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes. The role involves an on-call component once every 5 weeks as well as occasional travel and shift work.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate high-volume 24/7 service operations
Provide proactive leadership to a team of 20 Disability Support Workers
Continuity of support services through management of unexpected leave coverage
Foster a culture of resilience and adaptability
Encourage staff competency in active support and complex client care
Effectively manage crisis situations and complex behavioural incidents
Act as a key liaison with families, navigating complex care dynamics
National collaboration to maintain service alignment
Balance competing demands, ensuring completion of mandatory reporting, compliance, risk management, and resource optimisation

Skills & Experience

Previous leadership experience within the delivery of services supporting people with complex care needs and high behaviours
Established influencing and negotiation skills
Ability to think creatively and problem solve
Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experience
Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
