COMMUNICATION
- The position is part of a Team where communication and co-operation within the team
is essential to perform its duties.
- The position requires the receiving of information and passing the information onto
internal customers. This would be indicative of field repairs where information is
received for the task, the task carried out and then repair information conveyed to the
operator.
JUDGEMENT & PROBLEM SOLVING
- The position follows given procedures and also statutory regulations as provided from
the RMS, Manufacturers, E.P.A, M.V.R.I.A. The supervisor may outline procedures
that need to be considered when undertaking a procedure
- The position will require the interpretation of technical manuals/schematic diagrams
which may occur in remote sites and depot workshops which requires repairing of
faults with minimal supervision/guidance.
AUTHORITY
- The position may require the delegation of tasks to non-trade staff or apprentices. It
also requires a level of authority to undertake repairs and determine the operational
safety of equipment.
SKILL, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
ESSENTIAL
- Hold an industry recognised Trade Qualification as a Motor Mechanic/Plant Mechanic
or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic together with M.V.R.I.A. certification.
- Relevant post-trade qualifications and proven post-trade experience and knowledge
in the maintenance and operations of light and/or heavy vehicles, and plant equipment.
- Hold a current N.S.W. MR driver’s license.
- Proven ability to work both unsupervised and in a team environment.
- Have a flexible attitude/open to change & committed to continuous skill development.
- Commitment to providing professional customer service.
- Have a sound knowledge and commitment to Workplace Health & Safety principles
and procedures.
- Have an understanding and commitment of E.E.O. principles.
- Proven written and oral communication skills also including basic computer knowledge
& skills
- Be physically fit to perform the duties and self-motivated.
