Geology Field Technician

Northern Star Resources have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Geology Technician to join the Geology Growth – Field team.

This opportunity is offered as residential in the Goldfields working a family friendly roster of 8/6, 11-hour days, working from 5:30am to 4:30pm.

The successful candidate will assist in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for subsequent analysis by Geologists.

To thrive in this role, you will need where quick thinking, problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail. Step into a role where your skills make a real impact.

Here's what awaits you:

Meter marking, photographing, cutting, and sample collection of diamond core is completed in a timely manner and is in line with core processing priorities.
Appropriate QAQC samples are included in all submissions.
Sample submissions are completed in a timely manner with no errors.
Transport of samples to the offsite laboratory.
Storage & accurate Cataloguing of diamond core in the core farm is completed thoroughly and in line with procedure.
Drill site preparation and rehabilitation.
Collar mark ups and recording GPS coordinates.
Supervising earthworks, crane lifts as per site specifications.
Prepare drill sites by marking drill pads and sumps, identifying hazards, and ensuring sites are drill-ready.
General support and logistics as required.
Data management using Excel and Word.
Undertake additional duties as required by Geology team on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications:

Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
Current approved and recognised forklift ticket (Desired)
Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
4WD operation and recovery skills (desirable)

Experience:

Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft office products
Excellent numeracy skills
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Strong attention to detail
Ability to plan daily activities and meet deadlines
Ability to work unsupervised as required and as part of a team
