Emergency Response Officer

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Emergency Services Officer to join our KCGM Operations. This residential role is a Max Term – Full Time position on an 8/6 roster working 12-hour days.

Here’s what awaits you:

Act in accordance with the health and safety management system requisites of the Company.
Maintain Site Emergency Management documentation to currency.
Participate in Risk Assessments as Subject Matter Expert to Emergency Planning & Response.
Maintain operational readiness of identified safety / emergency response equipment and vehicles.
Plan & deliver ER training to operational workgroups in emergency management processes.
Plan, coordinate and/or execute external and internal training programs for ERT members.
Act as First Responder for Incident Management, including acting in an after-hours on-call capacity.
Maintain working relationships with Mutual Aid Emergency Services agencies and/or personnel.
Develop, implement and maintain Emergency work procedures and promote high health, safety and environmental awareness.
Plan and Execute Operational Emergency exercises

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: Experience in an underground and/or processing mine environment (desirable), working knowledge of applicable WHS legislation, Australian Standards & relevant Industry Codes of Practice, good Computer Literacy, ability to meet physical demands of the role, experience in effective delivery of training materials, ability to communicate effectively across all levels, verbally and in writing, strong record keeping and presentation skills.

Qualifications: Certificate III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue, certificate IV Health Care or equivalent, current unrestricted "C" Class Western Australian Driver's License, certificate IV Work Health and Safety (desirable), certificate IV Training and Assessment (desirable), HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (desirable), current "HR" Class Western Australian Driver's Licence (desirable)
