Job Description
Joining our theatre department at Joondalup Health Campus, you hold a key role in leading our theatre bookings team to support and assist our clinical team and patients. Equipped with a 15-theatre complex, Cath Lab and Endoscopy Suite, Joondalup Health Campus sees a high volume of Public and Private Emergency and Elective procedures.
Supporting, managing and motivating our Theatre Bookings team, you will be responsible for;

Responsibility for the supervision, development and support of the theatre booking/waitlist staff within the department

In collaboration with the DDCS/Theatre Management Team, Co-ordination of all bookings and theatre list allocations for private and public patients, in liaison with doctors and all relevant departmental staff.

Co-ordination and management of public waitlist, including maintenance of data and reporting
-
Collaborates with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) , Bed management and Day procedures regarding admissions for effective patient flow

Ensures operational, staffing, KPI and budgetary requirements are met
Flexibility to work across a Monday to Friday roster is essential.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience working in an administrative / role within an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have had exposure to a theatre bookings role and is ready to take the next step in developing their career.
The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria;

Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ability to work effectively in a team environment preferably in a hospital or health care environment.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including negotiation/conflict resolution
-
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills including the ability to plan, prioritise, make decisions, meet deadlines and manage resources
-
Highly developed organisational and administrative skills
-
Demonstrated advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office package, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
-
Comprehensive knowledge of medical/procedural terminology
-
Strong leadership skills and the ability to act as a positive role model with strong customer service skills
-
Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads, complete tasks within designated timeframes
The following criteria is highly desirable:

Certificate in Medical Terminology
-
Experience managing / leading a team
-
Experience in hospital mainframe systems (IBA or Meditech in conjunction with competent keyboard skills and MS Office)

Experience with bookings systems
-
Relevant health services experience
