Full Job Description

Cascade (Australia) Pty Ltd is part of the global Cascade Corporation with our head office in Portland, Oregon, USA. In Australia, we have a significant operation which manufactures and supplies a broad range of forks, forklift attachments and accessories for the Materials Handling Market.

Currently, we have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer / Sales Engineer. This position will report to the Customer Service Manager and is part of our Internal Sales team at our Darra office.

The successful applicant will take responsibility for:

Performing engineering design and calculations for Cascade products for customers
Updating and managing design tools, design data, CAD Models, Drawings and Design Risk Assessments
Documenting engineering calculations of design strength
Ensuring that engineering and production projects are completed in accordance with Australian and International standards as well as production requirements
Assist with preparation and collation of reports and other project documentation, including test reports and manuals
Ensuring complete customer service excellence
Liaising with the engineering group to ensure technical customer requests and quotations are actioned in a timely and accurate manner
Actioning direct and indirect customer emails, requests for quotes, and parts enquiries
Taking and responding to incoming customer calls
Order entry and order management through to customer delivery
Liaising with the internal production team to ensure all customer expectations are achieved on special manufactured products.

To be successful in this role we require you to have:

Experience in 3d Solid Modelling and PDM Building or equivalent
Mechanical Engineering degree
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, and assembly
Multiple skills across customer service and technical sales
Ability to understand engineering parts manuals, drawings and concepts
ERP (ideally Oracle/JDE) and CRM (Ideally Goldmine) Systems exposure advantageous
Precise data entry skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to improve business processes.
