About the role
Natural Corporation is the exclusive Australian distributor of Severne Windsurfing, an internationally recognised windsurfing and watersports brand, and a key strategic entity within the global Severne brand group, where the brand's founder and designer is based. We are seeking an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to lead the strategic direction and execution of marketing for the Severne brand and to co-lead sales strategy for the Australian market. Based in Perth, the role carries direct ownership of sales and marketing in the Australian market alongside global marketing leadership exercised from Australia, spanning brand, demand generation, digital marketing, marketing automation, AI-driven marketing strategy, and B2B and B2C business development. Because Severne is a specialist windsurfing manufacturer, the role demands intricate, first-hand knowledge of windsurfing and the wider watersports category, and a proven ability to market and promote watersports equipment credibly to an enthusiast audience.
Reports to: Managing Director; Direct reports: 1 to 2 initially; Budget owned: six-figure annual marketing budget (global, with Australian allocation).
Duties and responsibilities
Marketing strategy and budget
- Define and own the marketing strategy for the Severne brand, aligned to commercial targets and brand positioning across global and Australian markets.
- Set and manage the annual marketing budget, allocating across regions, channels and initiatives, and approve expenditure within delegated authority.
- Establish annual marketing targets across new business, digital, advertising, product launches, events, social and community, and direct quarterly performance reviews and reforecasting.
Sales and business development (Australian market)
- Co-develop sales strategy in partnership with the International Sales Manager and lead go-to-market execution across B2B (distributor and retail network) and B2C (direct-to-consumer) channels.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard Australian distribution and retail partners; own pipeline development and revenue targets for the Severne brand in Australia.
- Build the local marketing-to-sales conversion engine (lead handover, account-based campaigns, partner enablement) and represent the business to key Australian trade and retail accounts.
Digital, automation and AI
- Own the digital marketing strategy across paid media, organic search, content, email and social, and direct performance marketing, channel mix and conversion optimisation against ROI and attribution data.
- Define and own the marketing automation strategy and martech stack, including lead scoring, lifecycle campaigns, segmentation, CRM integration and attribution, ensuring data quality and privacy compliance (Australian Privacy Act and GDPR).
- Set the AI strategy for the marketing function, covering tooling, governance and brand-voice guardrails, and direct the integration of AI across campaign development, content, customer insight and workflow automation.
Brand, content and product launches
- Own brand strategy, positioning and communication guidelines in close collaboration with the brand's founder and designer, and direct brand consistency across all markets and touchpoints.
- Lead the annual content calendar and approve creative direction for advertising, photoshoots, video and editorial, including planning and directing global photoshoots.
- Lead end-to-end marketing strategy and execution for product launches, covering positioning, media, social, launch events, PR and sales enablement, coordinated with product, sales and the athlete team.
Social, community, athletes and events
- Set strategy and targets for social and community channels, and direct the community manager and social media coordinator in execution.
- Partner with the Team Manager on athlete team marketing: budget, contract content obligations and integration of athlete content into campaigns.
- Set the annual events and trade show portfolio and budget, and lead Severne product launches and demo events against brand, commercial and PR objectives.
B2B enablement and market analysis
- Own the B2B marketing platform and partner/dealer portal, and direct production of sales enablement materials (product guides, imagery, video, presentations, dealer campaigns).
- Direct market analysis to identify new commercial opportunities globally and in Australia, maintain brand equity, and report on commercial and marketing performance to leadership.
Skills and experience required
- Intricate, first-hand knowledge of windsurfing and the wider watersports category, including the equipment, the community and the competitive scene.
- Demonstrated experience marketing and promoting watersports or technical sporting equipment to an enthusiast audience.
- Demonstrated experience in a global or senior marketing leadership role.
- Proven B2B and B2C marketing track record within branded consumer goods, sports or a lifestyle category.
- Experience setting and managing six-figure marketing budgets.
- Strong digital marketing capability across paid media, SEO, content, email and social.
- Hands-on expertise with marketing automation platforms and CRM integration.
- Working knowledge of AI tooling for marketing, with the ability to set governance and adoption strategy.
- Experience launching products into international markets.
- Commercial fluency, with the ability to translate marketing activity into revenue and pipeline outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
Pay: $80,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
