The Opportunity

Camden Downs is a close-knit retirement community set within beautifully maintained grounds in the peaceful suburb of Camden South. It offers a relaxed, semi-rural lifestyle with easy access to shopping, healthcare, and local attractions. Residents enjoy a strong sense of community, modern villas, and convenient amenities that support both independence and connection. As a Maintenance Gardener, you will play an important role within the community, ensuring gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe, well-maintained and visually appealing. You’ll take care of day to day gardening and grounds maintenance tasks while engaging positively with residents. This role is ideal for someone with strong gardening experience who is friendly, proactive, and enjoys a varied, hands on role.

This is a permanent part-time position working Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays (7:30am-4:00pm)

Your Impact

Maintain gardens, grounds and outdoor areas to a high standard, including mowing, pruning, hedging, mulching and green waste management
Ensure communal outdoor spaces are clean, tidy and welcoming for residents and visitors at all times
Carry out routine checks and basic upkeep of irrigation systems and external sprinklers
Complete scheduled gardening tasks efficiently while responding to day-to-day grounds maintenance needs
Be a friendly and approachable presence for residents while going about daily work
Report any safety or maintenance concerns in outdoor areas promptly to the Community Manager

What you'll bring

Gardening or grounds experience, with a strong sense of pride and ownership in your work
A proactive, solutions focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action
Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident friendly way
A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work
A valid driver’s licence (essential)
Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
