Natural Assets Administrative Assistant
Fixed Term Full time (12-month Parental Leave Cover)
The Opportunity
Hinchinbrook Shire Council is seeking a motivated and organised Natural Assets Administrative Assistant to join our Infrastructure Services team in a fixed term parental leave relief position. In this varied role, you will provide administrative and business support to the Roads, Public Spaces and Biosecurity teams, coordinating customer requests, records management, procurement support, reporting and project administration. What Council Offers:
- 72.5 hour fortnight with roster variations depending on the position (9-day fortnight - RDOs in accordance with Council policy)

General Salary Information:
This position is classified as Level 3 under the
Hinchinbrook Shire Council Local Government Officers (Stream A) Certified Agreement.
The salary is $78,260 per annum + superannuation. ($41.52 per hour).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional, confidential and customer-focused administrative support to the Manager Roads, Public Spaces and Biosecurity, Coordinators and operational teams, exercising initiative, judgement and discretion in the delivery of duties;
- Prepare and coordinate reports, correspondence, presentations and other business documentation to support operational and organisational objectives;
- Assist with the administration of departmental records, correspondence, procurement activities, purchasing processes and other business support functions to support efficient departmental operations; and

Experience in administration, customer service and business support functions is essential, with local government experience and knowledge of records management or procurement systems highly regarded. Key Selection Criteria

Mandatory:
- Certificate III in Business, Business Administration or a related discipline; or demonstrated equivalent experience in an administrative support role;
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;
- Well-developed computer skills, including ArcGIS and Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to produce accurate and professional documentation;
- Current Queensland ‘C’ Class Licence or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a local government environment;
- Experience using electronic records management systems, customer request management systems or other corporate business systems; and
- Experience in procurement, purchasing or financial administration processes
