Description:
As a Job Mentor with a First Nations Specialist Provider under Workforce Australia, you will provide culturally safe, holistic, and tailored support to First Nations participants, helping them overcome barriers to employment and achieve meaningful, long-term participation in the workforce.

This is a part time position - 22.8 hours per week

Skills and Experiences:

Demonstrate strong cultural competency in working with First Nations communities
Participate in connection with community, respect relationships and apply this respect to each participant across all diverse cultural backgrounds
Ability to apply mentoring, case management, and employment services
Strong understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in relation to employment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and advocacy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of local community services, employers, and support networks
High level of organisational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or case management systems
Understanding of typical barriers faced by unemployed participants, particularly parents returning to the workforce
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong administration skills
Ability to meet and exceed outcome-focused KPIs
Experience in community support, employment services, human resources/recruitment, education and/or social services (desirable)
Experience working with disadvantaged cohorts (desirable)
Experience working with Indigenous communities (desirable)
Experience working with participants with mental health and other barriers (desirable)
Must pass and have a current Police Check
Must pass and have a current Working with Children Check and/or Vulnerable Persons Check
Driver's License required
