Newcastle Private Hospital is looking for a Physiotherapist to join their team on a part time basis for a 12 month maternity leave contract. We are currently on the lookout for someone to work 30.4 hours per fortnight, 2 shifts per week predominantly in the Day Rehabilitation unit which is open Monday through to Thursday.
Opportunity to also work across the other wards of the hospital and includes occasional weekend work.

health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As Physiotherapist your responsibilities will include:

Providing comprehensive Physiotherapy services to Rehabilitation patients and acute surgical inpatients (including orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac and neurosurgery.

Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence based practice

Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department

Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people

Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services.

Clinical supervision of physiotherapy and allied health assistant students.
Essential Criteria:

Bachelor in Physiotherapy

Current AHPRA Registration
-
Able to work a range of shifts Excellent clinical practice skills to manage a high acuity caseload

Minimum 1 years’ experience in an acute hospital environment

Prior experience in a Rehabilitation setting would be advantageous
-
Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Excellent organisation and time management skills

Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
