As a security officer at Horsham Night Watch Security Pty Ltd, you'll patrol assigned areas, monitor surveillance systems, and respond to incidents to ensure safety. You’ll maintain detailed reports and collaborate with local authorities when necessary. Strong communication skills and a commitment to community safety are essential for this role.
Task & Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, parking lots, and other facilities, to detect and prevent unauthorized access, vandalism, and other security breaches.
- Manage and control access to secure areas by verifying identification, checking credentials, and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, security breaches, and emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and disturbances, ensuring the safety of all individuals on-site.
- Document and report all incidents, suspicious activities, and security breaches in detailed logs and reports, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately recorded.
- Perform searches of individuals, vehicles, and personal belongings when necessary to prevent the entry of prohibited items into secure areas.
- Assist employees, visitors, and the public by providing directions, answering questions, and offering support during emergencies or other security-related situations.
- Ensure that all security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and communication devices, are properly maintained, functional, and ready for use.
- Enforce site-specific rules and regulations, including preventing loitering, smoking in prohibited areas, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, providing information and support during investigations, and coordinating responses to serious incidents.
- Manage crowds during events, protests, or other gatherings, ensuring that order is maintained, and that participants and bystanders remain safe.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with security protocols, emergency procedures, and the latest security technologies and trends.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: AQF Certificate I or 2 in Security or compulsory secondary education.
- Experience: Minimum 1 years’ experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is an advantage.
Requirement
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Observational Skills: Keen attention to detail and the ability to identify potential security threats.
- Physical Fitness: Capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with security systems and equipment, including surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact positively with the public and de-escalate situations as needed.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
