Are you an experienced, capable Medical Registrar looking for a role that offers genuine clinical autonomy, broad general medicine exposure, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in rural communities?
Grampians Health Horsham is seeking a motivated Registrar to join our innovative Hospital Without Walls (HWoW) service. This is a unique opportunity to step beyond the traditional hospital ward and deliver hospital-level care directly to patients in their homes and community settings, improving access to healthcare and supporting better outcomes across the Wimmera region. Under the supervision of the HWoW Consultant and supported by a multidisciplinary team, you will assess each patient's suitability for home-based care, direct and adjust their treatment, and act as the first point of clinical escalation for patients in the program. We are looking for a registrar with strong clinical skills, sound judgement and the confidence to work autonomously while remaining well supported by experienced senior clinicians.
A Diverse and Rewarding Clinical Experience
This role offers experience directing and monitoring the delivery of hospital-level care in the home for a range of acute and chronic conditions. You will gain valuable experience and transferrable skills in the clinical practice, logistics and governance of delivering safe and appropriate medical care outside a hospital environment.
About You
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent, with current general registration with AHPRA
- Minimum three years of postgraduate clinical experience
- Sound skills in the assessment and management of acute general medical patients
- Confidence to work autonomously with sound judgement, supported by senior clinicians
Desirable
- Enrolment in, or eligibility for, a relevant college training program (e.g. RACP, ACRRM or RACGP)
- Experience in general medicine, emergency care or Hospital in the Home
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement
