At Quinn & Co. Eyecare Horsham, we are passionate about eye health and helping others see the world more clearly. We are currently seeking a driven and outgoing individual to join our team as a full-time highly experienced Optical Dispenser. If you’re a self-motivated individual with exceptional customer service and sales skills, we want to hear from you! A minimum of 5 years' optical dispensing experience is essential.

We pride ourselves on delivering personalised care and ensuring our patients have access to the latest optical technologies. Our friendly and professional team is committed to creating a positive and comfortable environment for both staff and patients.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist patients in selecting appropriate frames, considering their visual needs, prescription requirements, and personal style preferences.
Interpret optical prescriptions — including complex and high-difficulty scripts — and provide expert advice on lens options, materials, and designs to optimise vision and enhance the overall eyewear experience.
Apply specialist knowledge to manage complex lens orders, including multifocals, high-powered prescriptions, and specialty lens types, ensuring accuracy and the best possible visual outcome for each patient.
Troubleshoot and resolve eyewear issues — including fit, comfort, optical performance, and adaptation concerns — drawing on deep technical knowledge to deliver solutions.
Conduct frame adjustments, repairs, and minor maintenance, ensuring optimal fit and comfort for patients.
Place and track orders for lenses, frames, and other eyewear accessories, coordinating with external suppliers and maintaining inventory control.
Train, mentor, and supervise new and less experienced dispensing staff, sharing technical expertise and upholding the high standards of optical care that define Quinn & Co. Eyecare Horsham.
Review sales performance data to identify trends, product opportunities, and areas for growth, and translate those insights into practical coaching, team development, and promotional ideas that drive business outcomes.
Collaborate effectively with optometrists, support staff, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years' optical dispensing experience is essential.
Exceptional customer service and sales skills.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
Enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment and is able to remain calm under pressure.
Demonstrates a growth mindset and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Good computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
