Counsellor & Social Worker Level 1 / 2 - $79,419 - $113,301 per annum
Psychologist – $83,670 - $122,465 per annum

Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

Where you'll be working
High Street Youth Health Service is a specialist youth-focused service within Western Sydney Local Health District, providing accessible, responsive and holistic healthcare for young people aged 12-24 years. Our team is passionate about improving health outcomes for marginalised, homeless and at-risk young people through collaboration, innovation and person-centred care.

Working alongside experienced clinicians and community partners, you'll be part of a service that values inclusion, respect, cultural responsiveness and continuous improvement.

Work in a dynamic community health setting supporting vulnerable young people
Collaborate with health professionals, community agencies and support services

What you'll be doing
As a Youth Health Counsellor, you will provide trauma-informed, client-centred counselling and psychosocial support to young people and their significant others within a primary health care framework. You will play a key role in engaging vulnerable young people, supporting their wellbeing, and connecting them with the services they need to thrive.

Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, supportive counselling and brief interventions
Provide assertive case management, care coordination, intake assessments and referrals
Develop, implement and evaluate care plans tailored to individual client needs
Facilitate access to health, social and community supports through strong stakeholder partnerships
Promote health education, advocacy and programs that enhance outcomes for marginalised and at-risk young people

Essential Criteria:

Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline
Registration: Registration with AHPRA as per requirements

Selection Criteria:

1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field with registration through AHPRA or respective professional body.

2. Experience working with and understanding of the issues affecting marginalised young people’s access to health services.

3. 3Demonstrated experience in the delivery of therapeutic interventions to marginalised young people, with a focus on trauma informed practice.

4. Demonstrated experience in provision of brief intervention and crisis counselling with at risk young people.

5. Excellent communication and networking skills, and demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

6. Excellent computer skills with experience in a range of Microsoft applications.

7. Demonstrated ability to engage with marginalised and at risk young people both individually and in a group setting.

8. Current NSW drivers licence and willingness to use for work purpose.
