Access Aged Care is seeking expressions of interest from General Practitioners to join our growing team across Tasmania.
You'll provide regular weekly rounds within one or more Residential Aged Care Homes, caring for a consistent cohort of residents and building meaningful long-term relationships with residents, families and care teams.
This opportunity offers weekday hours only, with no after-hours, weekends or on-call requirements. With dedicated after-hours support in place, you can switch off between sessions and protect your personal time.
An Access Aged Care Nurse supports your rounds, residents and follow-up care, helping coordinate care plans, investigations and communication with homes so your sessions run smoothly and efficiently.
Supported by telehealth geriatricians, physicians and specialists, you will have trusted backup for complex clinical decision-making and preventative resident care - helping address issues early, before they escalate into avoidable deterioration or hospital presentations.
While the pace of traditional general practice often requires clinicians to see high volumes of patients, our purpose-built aged care model is designed around quality, continuity and proactive care. Supported by dedicated nurses, streamlined operational systems and specialist collaboration, you'll have the time and support to build lasting relationships with residents and focus on what matters most - less paperwork, better medicine.

Guaranteed Daily Rate: Earn $2,000 per day for an 8-hour workday, with predictable scheduling and consistent demand within established Residential Aged Care Homes.

Current AHPRA Specialist Registration as a General Practitioner.

RACGP or ACRRM Fellowship required (or nearing completion).

Availability of 1 day per week initially, with opportunity to increase.

Comfortable with technology, including system-based reporting and common clinical software.

A personal laptop is required to perform the duties of this role.
