About the service:
The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and you do not need an appointment, referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre. The new services in Devonport, Burnie and Outer Hobart are co-funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments, to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.
The service is tailored to the needs of the community in Tasmania and provides a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support.
The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, allowing them to:

Access support from trained mental health professionals within their community
About the Location:
Glenorchy is a vibrant community located in Greater Hobart metropolitan area. Glenorchy means ‘glen of tumbling waters’ and is widely known for its mountain backdrop, relaxed lifestyle and scenic outdoor adventures. It is nestled on the beautiful River Derwent and within close access to Mount Wellington.
This new Medicare Mental Health Service in Glenorchy will be proudly based in one of Tasmania’s most significant buildings that was designed in 1957 by renowned architect Esmond Dorney. The glass building holds a unique butterfly roof and is a well-known local treasure.

Role Overview:
The Clinical Manager role has responsibility for the provision of clinical leadership and management to the site-based team members (excluding the Community Engagement, Medical Receptionist and Peer Worker staff).
The focus of this role is on the day-to-day delivery of excellence in quality care provision, ensuring all clinical governance and compliance targets are implemented and met, as well as working with the Clinical Services Manager and Operations Manager for Tasmania to support innovation and quality improvement for the region to ensure evidence-based outcomes for people accessing the service.
Requirements:
-
Must have one of the following: mental health-related degree as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse, OR a Mental Health Social Worker, with eligibility for related registration.

Experience leading a multidisciplinary team or extensive experience as a Senior Clinician providing clinical support to a team, including the ability to lead the coordination of care for people with complex needs. This includes consultation and engagement with a wide range of professionals

Knowledge & understanding of the theory underpinning evidence-based interventions & clinical practice as well as demonstrated excellence in the practical application of such, in the areas of mental health and alcohol and drug use.

Highly developed communication skills and the ability to engage with consumers, advocate on their behalf and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, families & friends and stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience in managing clinical governance, supervision and mentoring of staff, process development and monitoring, data capture and reporting to meet key contractual benchmarks

Experience in the use of electronic client/customer management systems, and experience with workforce management systems and Microsoft Office applications

Current C class drivers licence

Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC and NDIS worker screening
