About the role
Lead the delivery of electrical engineering solutions across major hydropower projects, focusing on HV (switchgear, transformers, alternators) equipment replacements and refurbishments. Develop specifications, review designs and drive technical decisions from concept through to commissioning.
Collaborate with and lead internal teams and external partners to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective outcomes, while providing specialist advice, mentoring engineers, resolving complex issues and continuously improving standards and practices.
Salary range $140,887 – $163,308 plus super

Key responsibilities
- Produce and validate HV specifications and control system design outputs.
- Review, endorse and sign off critical engineering documentation and standards.
- Develop accurate technical inputs for project scope, estimates and decisions.
- Build team technical capability through coaching, knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
- Diagnose and resolve complex engineering issues to maintain project delivery cadence.

Skills & experience
- Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (eligible for Engineers Australia membership).
- Extensive experience in High Voltage (HV) power generation equipment and Low Voltage (LV) AC/DC systems.
- Strong capability in electrical design, development of equipment specifications and contemporary engineering practices.
- Proven ability to deliver complex engineering outcomes across multiple concurrent projects.
- Demonstrated leadership through mentoring and influencing stakeholders.

You’ll join the Capital Delivery team within Assets & Infrastructure, delivering critical upgrades and modernisation programs across Tasmania’s hydropower network, working alongside highly skilled engineers and technical specialists.
