What we are looking for:
We’re seeking a customer-focused team player with experience in library circulation and who is confident in using the library systems. You’ll have strong communication skills and the ability to support daily operations while guiding staff and volunteers.
No two days are the same - whether you’re solving problems, helping someone access services, or improving the branch experience. If you thrive on variety, connection, and making a real impact, this is the role for you.
Hours Pattern:
Tuesday..............8:00am to 5:00pm (Pay Week 1 only)
Wednesday.........8:15am to 5:00pm
Thursday.............9:15am to 6:00pm
Friday..................7:45am to 4:00pm
Saturday..............7:45am to 4:00pm
RDO - Tuesday Pay Week 2
Not Rostered on Monday & Sundays
What your day will look like:
- Deliver high-quality customer service while supporting daily library operations and workflows
- Provide on-floor guidance to staff and volunteers, including task allocation and routine issue support
- Manage circulation services and associated admin tasks (loans, returns, transactions, records, reporting)
- Assist patrons with technology, equipment, and access to catalogue and eResources
- Support displays, promotions, and ensure compliance with procedures, WHS, and service standards

What you’ll need for success:
- Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing library environment, with particular emphasis on library circulation.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communications skills with exceptional customer service techniques and ability to effectively negotiate and solve problems.
- High level computer literacy in an automated environment, including use of library management systems, databases, and customer service platforms.
- Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, including the ability to apply procedures, identify and address hazards, and promote safe practices within the library environment.
- Flexible, cooperative and adaptable team player with the ability to work with all library stakeholders and contribute to change initiatives.
What’s nice to have:
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Diploma (AQF Level 5) of Library and Information Science
