We’re seeking a customer-focused team player with experience in library circulation and who is confident in using the library systems. You’ll have strong communication skills and the ability to support daily operations while guiding staff and volunteers. No two days are the same - whether you’re solving problems, helping someone access services, or improving the branch experience. Work Hours:
Monday to Friday 8:15 am to 5 pm (45-minute break)

What your day will look like:
- Support the acquisition, processing and maintenance of library resources to keep collections current and accessible.
- Manage orders, procurement records and supplier liaison through the Library Management System and financial processes.
- Catalogue, classify and prepare materials (including MARC records) to ensure timely, consistent availability.
- Maintain and develop collections through weeding, repairs, serials management, donations and identifying gaps.
- Provide research, reference and customer support across circulation, Local Studies, inter‑library loans and community engagement activities.

What you’ll need for success:
- Demonstrated experience in library collection management processes, including acquisitions, cataloguing, classification, accessioning, processing and maintenance within a public library environment.
- Demonstrated experience in creating, editing and maintaining catalogue records in accordance with current metadata standards.
- Proven ability to use Library Management Systems, library databases and digital technologies to support efficient workflows and accurate bibliographic record management.
- Experience administering procurement and acquisitions processes, including supplier liaison, order monitoring, issue resolution, invoice reconciliation and financial record maintenance.
- Strong understanding of collection development and maintenance practices, including weeding, transfers, serials management, donation assessment and collection gap analysis.
- Well-developed customer service, communication and research skills, with the ability to provide information services, respond to enquiries and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain.
- Valid class C or CA driver licence (provisional or open) to drive a vehicle in Queensland.
What’s nice to have:
- Diploma (AQF Level 5) or above in Library and Information Science
- Experience in supporting and troubleshooting library related technologies.
- Experience in creating display and promotional content to support the visibility of collections, programs and services.
- Knowledge of current library technologies, digital trends and contemporary public library service practices, particularly in a regional or multi-branch environment.
