Enrolled Endorsed Nurse (EEN)

Port Melbourne Hostel (VIC)

Part Time Basis

Work with an established not for profit organisation committed to social justice
Competitive base pay rates: $40.21 – $45.10 + superannuation
Part Time Basis – 8 shifts per fortnight
Based at our Port Melbourne Hostel (VIC)

About us

Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania

Our Port Melbourne Hostel provides accommodation and care to older people who require assistance with daily living and personal care.

Your new role:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our residential team at our Port Melbourne Hostel on a Part Time Basis. Bring your passion for well-being to our close-knit community, fostering a warm and supportive environment for our residents.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care.

Your fortnightly roster will be as below:

Week 1: Monday (1430 – 2215) , Tuesday ,Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (0700 – 1500)

Week 2: Thursday , Friday (0700 -1500) and Saturday (1430 – 2215)

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

Observing and reporting changes in resident’s behaviour or physical condition
Undertaking medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
Liaising with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
Assisting the RN1 with clinical requirements of residents
Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
Providing emotional support to residents.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

Ability to work both in team and autonomously
Cert IV/Diploma of Nursing (with current AHPRA Registration)
Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
Keen eye for detail
Excellent communication skills
The ability to enhance or maintain our residents’ independence and lifestyle
A friendly and non-judgmental attitude
