About the Role
As a Village Cook, you will play an important role in supporting our team members by preparing and serving quality meals in our colleague dining facility. Working alongside a dedicated culinary team, you'll help create a positive dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Preparing and cooking meals for our colleague dining facility
Ensuring food is consistently presented and served to a high standard
Catering for dietary requirements and cultural preferences
Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
Supporting stock rotation, inventory management, and waste minimisation
Assisting with kitchen cleaning and operational duties
Contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture
Base rate $26.78 + penalties + loading
What we need from you

Minimum 5 years' experience in Commercial Cookery, with a strong background in banqueting and bulk food production

Experience catering for up to 400 guests per service

Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment

Extensive recipe and ingredient knowledge to produce a diverse range of dishes

Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Ability to thrive in a remote island environment
