Nursery Room Leader - Maternity Leave Contract (Potential to Go Permanent)

Are you ready for your next leadership step in a warm, collaborative early learning community? Our Hawthorn campus is seeking a passionate Nursery Room Leader for a 12-month fixed-term contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role.

About the Campus

Only About Children Hawthorn is a spacious, welcoming campus designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confident learning. With four beautiful outdoor play areas and five age-based indoor learning environments, our team is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive space where children feel safe, supported, and free to explore.

Our educators bring a rich blend of experience and culture, including bilingual team members fluent in Mandarin, Korean, Cantonese, Afrikaans and English. We are deeply connected to our local community, with regular excursions to nearby parks, cafes, and nature-based learning experiences.

About the Role

As our Nursery Room Leader, you will lead with warmth, confidence, and intention - creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest learners. You'll guide and mentor educators in your room, support high-quality practice aligned with the EYLF, and build strong, trusting relationships with families.

This role is ideal for an experienced Diploma-qualified educator who is ready to step into leadership or continue growing their leadership capability within a supportive, well-resourced campus.

What We're Looking For

Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
Experience leading or supporting a room
Strong understanding of the EYLF and National Quality Framework
Passion for creating meaningful, play-based learning experiences
A positive, collaborative approach to teamwork
