We are Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA). Our 800 strong team is leveraging unparalleled global resources to deliver sovereign Defence capability aligned to the Government’s priorities across Aeronautics, Mission Critical Systems, Space and Guided Weapons. As we build our business and our capabilities, we are also developing a reputation as a great place to work. Help us define what is possible for our nation and for your career.
The CAMM2 Data Manager keeps aircraft flying by ensuring maintenance data is correct. You won’t write policy. You will make sure it is applied properly. Everything runs through Computer Aided Maintenance Management, Version 2 (CAMM2).
If the data is wrong, operations stop. You will work across CAMM2 and IDMR to track maintenance activity and you will validate records, resolve issues, and support real aircraft outcomes.
There are two roles with slightly different focus:
-
Embedded role: Work closely with a squadron. Solve issues in real time.
-
Internal role: New position with a focus on data transfer, reconciliation, and configuration control.
Both roles are critical and located at Amberley. Both support airworthiness and compliance. NV1 clearance (current or previous) is required.
Key Responsibilities
You will work across maintenance data, validation, and system support.
This includes:
-
Manage maintenance data in CAMM2 and IDMR (IDMR is an internal system used to capture maintenance activity before it’s validated and recorded in CAMM2)
-
Ensure all activity aligns to approved maintenance policy
-
Validate documentation against ICA (Instructions for Continued Airworthiness) and policy references
-
Identify and fix data or configuration issues
-
Track serialised parts and fleet configuration
-
Manage anomalies, audits, and backlog priorities
The embedded role will also:
-
Work directly with squadron personnel
-
Troubleshoot CAMM2 issues in real time
-
Support onboarding and uplift of new users
About You
You already understand CAMM2 and how the ADF uses it. This is not a role where you will learn it from scratch. You will likely come from an ADF or Defence aviation background.
You may be:
-
A current or former CAMM2 Data Manager
-
An ex-RAAF technician who moved into data or planning
-
A maintenance admin or technical records specialist
You bring:
-
Hands-on CAMM2 experience in a maintenance environment
-
Understanding of airworthiness and maintenance policy
-
Experience working with technical maintenance documentation
-
Confidence working across multiple systems and datasets
-
NV1 clearance, or previously held NV1 clearance.
You are comfortable being accountable for data others rely on. You don’t just enter data. You check it and challenge it.
Why this role stands out:
You know the pressure that comes with this work. Backlogs. Resourcing gaps. Fixing other people’s mistakes. This role leans into that reality BUT gives you support.
-
You will be part of a team that backs each other
-
You won’t be micromanaged
-
You will have autonomy to solve problems properly
-
Your work will directly support aircraft operations
There is also a path forward.
You will build exposure to maintenance policy and planning.
This can lead into MRD or production planning roles.
