About the Role:

Below are some key competencies we are looking for in this role:

Visual Merchandising: Skill in creating visually appealing product displays and layouts to attract customers and drive sales.
Forecasting and Planning: Ability to forecast demand accurately, plan product assortments, and develop inventory strategies to meet sales targets.
Communication Skills: Effective communication with suppliers, vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to coordinate merchandising activities and ensure alignment with business goals.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers, vendors, and partners, including pricing, delivery schedules, and promotional opportunities.
Customer Focus: Commitment to understanding customer needs and preferences, and tailoring merchandising strategies to enhance the shopping experience and drive customer satisfaction.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with colleagues in areas such as marketing, sales, and operations to achieve common objectives.
Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and accuracy in executing merchandising tasks, including product placement, signage, and pricing.

Essential Role Requirements:

Valid Driver's License: The candidate must possess a valid driver's license, as driving will be an essential part of the role.
Access to a Car: Access to a reliable vehicle is required for transportation to various retail locations.
Ability to Carry Stock: The candidate must be physically capable of lifting and carrying stock, including boxes and display materials, as part of the merchandising duties.
Availability: Availability to work between 8 to 32 hours per week, with flexibility between Monday and Friday.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills are essential to effectively manage merchandise displays, stock levels, and inventory rotation at multiple locations.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with store managers, colleagues, and customers.
Attention to Detail: Attention to detail is crucial for ensuring accurate product placement, pricing, and signage in accordance with company standards.
Time Management: Effective time management skills are required to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maximize productivity during merchandising activities.
Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to identify and resolve merchandising issues or challenges independently, such as out-of-stock items or display discrepancies, is essential.
Team Player: A cooperative attitude and willingness to collaborate with team members and store staff to achieve merchandising objectives.
Customer Focus: A customer-centric mindset to ensure merchandise displays enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in basic computer skills, including email communication and data entry, may be required for reporting and inventory management tasks.
Adaptability: Adaptability to changing priorities, store layouts, and merchandising guidelines is necessary to thrive in a dynamic retail environment.
Positive Attitude: A positive attitude and enthusiasm for the role, coupled with a strong work ethic and reliability, are essential attributes for success as a merchandiser.
Previous Experience (Preferred): Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or a related field is advantageous.
