Band 3 - $34.76 - $37.20 excluding superannuation (Junior rates may apply)
The Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC) is currently seeking the services of a Lifeguard to join our team on a permanent part time basis. This role offers a minimum of 20 hours per fortnight and requires flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Lifeguards provide a key contribution to the operation of the Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC), and Council’s outdoor pools. The lifeguard is responsible for the supervision, safety, cleaning, and operation of these swimming pools.
Lifeguards are responsible to provide specialist surveillance, advice, supervision, safety, first aid and rescue services to pool patrons (proactive and reactive) to educate and prevent loss of life by drowning and/or injury to the public. Attendance at regular professional development sessions and ability to communicate with in a positive manner with the broader community as a representative of Council are key to this role.
Existing pool lifeguard and first aid qualifications are preferred, however training is available for suitable candidate.
