About the role:
As the Coordinator – Residential Care , you will provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight to Youth Workers delivering therapeutic care to children and young people who are subject to Child Protection Orders and are unable to safely live with their families. You will support your team to deliver trauma-informed, person-centred care that promotes safety, stability, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every child and young person.
Working closely with internal teams, government agencies and external stakeholders, you will oversee service delivery, provide coaching and guidance to staff, monitor compliance with legislative and organisational requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our residential care services.
We are seeking a Coordinator – Residential Care to join our team in a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week) based at our Gympie office.
The salary for this position starts from $58.37 per hour , plus superannuation and access to Anglicare Southern Queensland's generous salary packaging benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise and support a team of Youth Workers, fostering a positive, collaborative and accountable culture focused on delivering high-quality therapeutic care.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the residential service, including staff rosters, shift handovers, meetings, appointments and staffing coverage.
- Provide regular coaching, supervision and performance support to Youth Workers, while maintaining effective communication with Coordinators, the Service Manager and on-call teams.
- Oversee the development, implementation and review of Individual Child Plans (ICPs), ensuring care strategies are current, trauma-informed and responsive to each child's needs.
- Monitor and ensure accurate, timely and compliant documentation, case records, reports and portfolio management in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
- Coordinate case reviews and planning meetings with the Department of Child Safety, families and external service providers to support positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Promote and maintain a safe, stable and nurturing residential environment by ensuring compliance with child protection legislation, organisational policies and therapeutic care practices.
- Support children and young people to develop resilience, life skills and independence, while facilitating positive transitions into, within and out of residential care services.
- Monitor household budgets, petty cash, vehicles and other operational resources, ensuring financial accountability and the efficient day-to-day management of the residence.
- Role model best practice, encourage continuous improvement and professional development, and provide operational support during staffing shortages or other service delivery needs.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) .
- Hold a current Licensed Care Service (LCS) certification.
- Hold a current Queensland Driver Licence .
- Possess a qualification in Behavioural Science, Social Science, Human Services, Community Services, Social Work or a related discipline, together with significant experience in residential care, child protection or a related field.
- Ability and willingness to travel between residential facilities to support service delivery.
