Officer Community Grants and Support - Permanent Part time
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $86,068, Pro Rata plus up to 14% superannuation

What we are looking for:
Gympie Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for applicants looking for permanent part-time hours of 21 hours per week. The successful applicant will work with Council colleagues to support the delivery of Council’s Community Grants Program and have primary responsibility for its administrative functions. The role involves developing and maintaining appropriate documentation and records, liaison with key stakeholders, preparation of promotional content and information sessions, and reporting. The role also provides general administrative and project support to the Community Development Team.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with residents, volunteers, the community sector and other government agencies.
- A resilient and solutions focused approach to customer-facing interactions.
- Demonstrated experience and highly developed skills in general administration and project support preferably within a Community Services or Public Sector environment.
- Demonstrated comprehensive digital literacy and computer skills including experience in Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or above that is current and maintained
Key Responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in the administrative functions of Council’s Community Grants Program including:
- the provision of grants information and grants administrative support to potential grant applicants and grant recipients
- the provision of grants administrative and content support to internal stakeholders
- the provision of information, referrals and guidance to community organisations regarding grants and related community development initiatives
- development and maintenance of appropriate documentation and records (i.e. application and acquittal forms)
- liaison with key stakeholders
- preparation and delivery of promotional and information session content
- the provision of accurate, effective and timely reporting.
- Provide support to community organisations in the region through the administration of Council’s photocopying scheme and Community Infoshare e-newsletter
- Contribute positively to a team culture that values people working together, encourages consultation, accompaniment and empowerment and fosters learning.
- Undertake disaster management and community recovery duties as required. Other duties required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position.
