Are you in the top 1%?
Most podiatry jobs look the same.
This one is different.
We'll be direct: we are not looking for just anyone. We are looking for the 1% — the podiatrist who is genuinely obsessed with sports biomechanics, who wants to work with elite athletes at the highest level, and who refuses to settle for a career that doesn't match their ambition.
Let's be honest about what makes most podiatry positions ordinary: low sports caseload, minimal mentorship, average pay, and a career ceiling that arrives too soon. Here is what we offer instead.
70–75%
OF OUR PATIENT LOAD IS SPORTS & BIOMECHANICS
What sets this apart from every other podiatry job in Australia
NOT ANOTHER GENERAL CLINIC
From your very first week, you will be immersed in a caseload that most podiatrists dream about. Sports injuries. Complex biomechanics. High-performance athletes. Plantar pressure analysis. 3D gait assessment. MSK treatment planning. This is your everyday — not a special occasion.
NOT ANOTHER AVERAGE SALARY
$90K–$130K+ base. Performance commission with no ceiling. A $10,000 sign-on bursary paid on day one. An education levy. And a salary reviewed upward as you grow — because your earning potential here is limited only by you.
NOT ANOTHER MENTOR WHO'S TOO BUSY
You will receive daily mentorship from Matthew — one of only a handful of ApodA Certified Sports Podiatrists in Australia, previously consulted to Washington Commanders (NFL). This is not supervision. This is a master class, every single day.
NOT ANOTHER WORK/LIFE LIE
Half a day off every week — permanently built into your roster. No aged care. No commute. On-site parking. A city with snow fields and beaches within 90 minutes. We have fun during and after work, and we mean it.
"Our 'why' is to progress the quality of life of all our patients and each other.
We live by this mantra daily."
— Matthew · ApodA Certified Sports Podiatrist · Previously Consulted to Washington Commanders (NFL) · Director, Podiatry Professionals
About the role
Podiatry Professionals is Canberra's leading sports podiatry clinic, and we are actively building what we believe will become Australia's most premier sports podiatry practice. This is a full-time position with an immediate start available, based at our Braddon clinic in the heart of Canberra.
Our clinic is also home to the Canberra Heel Pain Institute — a dedicated multidisciplinary heel pain centre bringing together podiatrists, a sports doctor, physiotherapist, orthopaedic surgeon, footwear retail, and medical imaging under one roof. It is one of the most comprehensive heel pain treatment facilities in Australia.
We have a well-established referral base spanning medical centres, sports physicians, physiotherapists, the Department of Defence, and orthopaedic surgeons — built over more than 14 years of specialist practice.
The teams you'll serve
This is not name-dropping. This is your actual caseload.
You will provide podiatric care to — or progress toward providing care to — some of the most recognisable sporting organisations in Australia:
ACT BRUMBIES (Men & Women's Super Rugby) · CANBERRA CAPITALS (WNBL) · NBA GLOBAL ACADEMY · ACT METEORS · CANBERRA RAIDERS JUNIORS · CANBERRA BRAVE · CANBERRA CHILL · ACTAS (ACT Academy of Sport) · AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE
Plus numerous elite individual athletes, national-level competitors, and ADF personnel — a cohort we have served for over 14 years.
The equipment you'll use
Most podiatry clinics promise 'modern equipment'. Here is ours specifically:
Diagnostic & gait
- Zebris plantar pressure video gait analysis with dynamic 3D in-shoe pressure measurement
- Force-plate treadmill for dedicated MSK biomechanical assessments
- 3D foot scanning — full in-house orthotic fabrication suite
Treatment modalities
- EMS shockwave therapy (plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy and more)
- Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) — full training and implementation provided
- Swift therapy
- In-house prefabricated, semi-custom and fully custom orthotic range
Full podiatry assistant support handles all sterilisation, admin, reports, and orthotic refurbishments. You will never be pulled away from clinical work by administrative tasks.
The mentorship — in detail
This deserves its own section because it is genuinely rare.
Matthew is one of only a handful of ApodA Certified Sports Podiatrists in Australia. He has previously consulted to the Washington Commanders (NFL), worked alongside world-class athletes and medical teams, and has built a referral network spanning sports physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, the Department of Defence, and physiotherapists across Canberra.
You will have access to that knowledge, those networks, and that experience — daily. Not once a month at a team meeting. Not via email. Every single day, working alongside him.
Weekly CPD sessions are a fixed part of the schedule. There is an education levy to support further qualifications, certifications, and conference attendance. For those ready to go further, involvement in the growth and development of the practice is available.
This is not a job. This is a career-defining opportunity.

One final thought
If you have read this far, you already know this role is different.
There are very few positions in Australian podiatry where you can earn at the top of the market, train under an elite and experienced sports podiatrist, work with elite sporting organisations, use genuinely world-class equipment, and still have a life outside of work.
This is one of them.
We are not in a hurry to fill this position with the wrong person. But when we find the right one, we move fast — and we look after them for the long term.
If that person is you, we want to hear from you today.
