Our café offers a varied menu featuring freshly prepared breakfast and lunch options, sandwiches, wraps, salads, hot meals, snacks and other café-style favourites. We focus on quality ingredients, consistent presentation, cleanliness and efficient service in a busy healthcare environment.
We are seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team and support the preparation and delivery of fresh, high-quality meals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of café-style breakfast and lunch meals and other menu items.
- Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards to maintain consistent food quality.
- Prepare ingredients and assist with food preparation before and during service.
- Ensure food is stored, labelled and handled in accordance with food safety requirements.
- Maintain clean and organised kitchen, cooking and preparation areas.
- Monitor ingredient levels and report stock shortages when required.
- Minimise food wastage through appropriate preparation and portion control.
- Work efficiently with kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy service periods.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a café, restaurant or commercial kitchen.
- Experience preparing breakfast, lunch and café-style meals.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
- Strong time-management, communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Availability to work mornings, weekends and public holidays as required.
