Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is looking for a reliable, customer-focused administrator to join the team at Griffith Base Hospital.
About the role:
Join Murrumbidgee Local Health District as a Relief Clerk, providing administration and clerical support to managers and teams across a range of settings to facilitate the smooth operation of the service, unit, ward or facility. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting day-to-day operations and providing relief for other administrative staff as required.
As the Relief Clerk, you will be responsible for:
- Providing high quality customer service to patients, employees and members of the public, including respectful and helpful responses to face-to-face and telephone enquiries.
- Completing a range of operational, clerical and administrative tasks using the MS Suite of applications, including Excel and Teams, to support the smooth running of the department.
- Assisting with admissions, transfers and discharges, record management, booking services and appointments, record keeping, correspondence, filing, typing, deliveries, pickups, purchasing and stores management.
- Providing assistance with more complex tasks or projects and providing meal relief for other clerical staff working on the Switchboard and in ED.
- Supporting the manager and team with quality activities to ensure ongoing improvement in local processes.
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating flexibility, initiative and a commitment to customer service excellence.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Bring experience working in a similar support role in a complex organisation, as an effective team member.
- Be able to make good decisions about work priorities and achieve key tasks effectively in a busy work area.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, with strong attention to detail.
- Have demonstrated high level computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft and Windows based applications, email systems, and/or other information and record keeping systems.
- Understand and be committed to providing excellent customer service, including maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Show initiative with known work procedures and be comfortable working under broad supervision.
- Hold a National Police Check, NSW Working with Children Check, and meet OASV Vaccination Category A requirements.
