Salary: AUD $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
About the Role:Due to our increased workload, we are seeking full-time Butcheres to join our team and be part of a thriving company where traditional values meet modern expansion – delivering top-tier meat products year after year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, bone, mince, and grind meats to precise specifications for retail, food service, wholesale, and domestic orders, ensuring high-quality presentation.
- Prepare specialised cuts by marinating, seasoning, curing, or crumb-coating as required for our discerning customers.
- Select and prep meats for small goods production.
- Operate processing equipment, including grinders, mixers, mincers, smoking chambers, etc, to handle our high-volume output.
- Clean, maintain, and sanitize all tools, equipment, and workspaces to uphold food safety standards and our facility’s full-capacity operations.
- Weigh, package, price, and prepare products for efficient distribution, keeping displays accurate and appealing.
- Receive, offload and organise stock items that are delivered on a daily basis.
- Keep accurate records of budgets, inventory, and supplier orders.
- Ensure strict compliance with all legal requirements are met, including but not limited to, temperature checks, food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols at every stage of processing.
- Attend to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies.
- Detect and ensure disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, equipment, and/or other unusual conditions.
- May be required to prepare food for special requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager in charge.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least a Certificate III or equivalent qualification in Meat Processing (Butchery, Small Goods Making).
- At least 1 year of previous experience in a similar role.
- A good work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions well.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and personal hygiene.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
